FibroStem™ is a skin volume restoration product designed to improve the structure, function and appearance of skin damaged by the aging process, scarring, medications, endocrine disorders, or HIV. Escape will generate FibroStem™ using a unique manufacturing process whereby ImmuStem™ or MesoStem™ cells are treated with its proprietary fibroblast differentiation factor, MatriCel™. When injected into the skin, FibroStem™ is believed to remodel and lay down collagen, elastin, and other extracellular matrix components normally produced within the dermis. In preliminary studies, Escape has shown that FibroStem™ displays a dramatically reduced immunogenicity profile in allorecognition studies. Escape's universal fibroblast product allows for the creation of an off-the-shelf extracellular matrix-producing skin cell that can be transplanted into patients of any HLA type, without the need for lifelong immunosuppression.
