Escape secures exclusive license with Stanford University for a novel bone growth protein.
Escape signed an exclusive worldwide license agreement with Stanford University to commercialize a novel
patent-pending osteogenic differentiation protein. Research at Stanford University has yielded a novel method to
engineer bone from mesenchymal stem cells. The investigator, Dr. Basil M. Hantash, an Instructor in the Division
of Plastic Surgery at Stanford University, and colleague Dr. Longmei Zhao have discovered a physiologically relevant
method to induce osteogenic differentiation that circumvents the need for steroids which suppress wound healing
in vivo. This new
discovery has
the potential to significantly advance the treatment of bone injuries such as acute fractures.
